Former top jockey Leanne Isherwood is defending charges she breached her home detention conditions.
Isherwood, a former double Wellington Cup winner, was sentenced to home detention in December 2007 after being convicted on methamphetamine charges.
Isherwood is facing two charges of breaking her home detention.
The first was on September 17 last year when she allegedly entered a shed that was still on her property, but outside her permitted boundary.
The second was on October 1 for being outside the time limit of an approved outing to the supermarket, and allegedly buying a bottle of wine.
Under the conditions of her sentence, she is not allowed to buy alcohol.
In Palmerston North yesterday her lawyer, Peter Coles, questioned in whether the electronic monitoring was working properly and did not accept she was out of range, the Manawatu Standard reported.
She is to appear in the district court on March 20 for a status hearing.
Isherwood was sentenced to home detention after police found 2.7 grams of methamphetamine, worth between $2000 and $2700, in her car.
In 1993 Isherwood won her first Wellington Cup aboard Dancing Lord and repeated the feat riding Miss Bailey in 1999.
