Top Sydney jockey Jim Cassidy showed he had lost none of his touch when he made a spectacular return to the saddle at Rosehill yesterday to win the Golden Slipper Festival (1200m) on Turn The Tide.
Cassidy had been sidelined for nine months after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction and the Paul Perry-trained five-year-old was his first ride back.
Turn The Tide led the field into the straight and after being headed was urged to the line under hard riding by Cassidy.
At 43, the jockey believes he still has some good years left and although he has won every major race on the Australian calendar, he is keen to add to his tally.
"It feels great just being out there," Cassidy said.
"I really missed it. I was always coming back and to ride a winner straight off feels great."
