Well-backed favourite Terror To Love won its second consecutive New Zealand Trotting Cup at Addington Raceway in Christchurch this afternoon.
Methven driver Ricky May recorded his sixth victory in the race, which equalled the record held by the legendary Cecil Devine, who trained and drove half a dozen winners between 1951 and 1979.
Terror To Love, who paid $2.30 for the win, made its first move with about one lap to go but then fell back into the pack before surging down the home straight to take the spoils in front of Highview Tommy and Sushi Sushi who finished third. Mah Sish ran on for fourth place.
The quinella paid $33.70, while the trifecta of Terror To Love, Highview Tommy and Sushi Sushi was worth $528.20.
May's previous Cup wins came with Inky Lord (1989), Iraklis (1997), Mainland Banner (2005) and Monkey King (2009 and 2010).
