KEY POINTS:
Polish Princess will make a belated trip to Brisbane for a winter racing campaign following her well-deserved victory at Te Rapa yesterday.
The 4-year-old Polish Precedent-sired mare unleashed a sustained sprint down the outer of the track in the hands of jockey Noel Harris, holding off the determined late-finishing Luckshan to win by three-quarters of a length.
A nose away third was Tenjuberrymud.
Polish Princess, the favourite, was initially booked for a flight to Brisbane on Thursday with the intention of racing her in a listed event at Eagle Farm tomorrow.
However, that plan was cancelled with a preference shown for yesterday's Te Rapa event.
The Mark Walker-trained mare will now head to Brisbane where she will race in a listed event at Caloundra on June 30.
Polish Princess is the type of race mare every owner wants to race with a faultless form line of four wins and six minor placings from 10 starts.
Yesterday's victory capped a series of consistent performances in group and listed events.
Earlier in the day, the Walker stable recorded another success when the well-bred 2-year-old Green Super posted a determined winning effort to take out the $16,000 Hinuera Lodge Juvenile.
Green Super scored by a head over the favourite, Vanny Fair, with a further length back to Binding Referendum who was third.
The colt son of Fusaichi Pegasus was well-supported on the strength of some impressive trial form leading into this 2-year-old event.
Green Super was a $250,000 yearling purchase at the 2006 Magic Millions Premier Sale and races in the ownership of the Hong Kong-based father and son partnership of Tom and Roger Li.
