The Peter and Dawn Williams stable is on a mission at the Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting at Riccarton today and it may well achieve it.
The stable is chasing the $1000 trainer's bonus, which it can scoop with three winners in the nine-race card. It looks on.
"We've got a lot in and most of them are racing well. I think either Robinson Girl or The Olympian could win the sixth," Peter Williams said from his temporary Auckland base.
"Rekohu Lad is close to winning one and so is Jaykay, while Sui Juris and Activate are in form. But you need luck of course."
So does Ned Thistoll, who lines Our Phoenix up in the last race and Girl Warrior as a real chance in the second, the Alberjon 1800.
"I'd quite like to have a go at the Kumara Nuggets with Our Phoenix but he has to win more races to get a start and there aren't that many opportunities. He's done well."
His biggest rival besides La Chatelaine in the 1600m event could be Joan.
"She's thriving so we may as well go on with her for a while," trainer Jan Kerr said.
