Racing: Speedy Speedalot impresses

Speedalot drew attention to her weekend prospects with an excellent gallop at Pukekohe yesterday.

Working on a slushy sand, Speedalot covered 1200m in 1:14.9, the last 1000 with Al Vialli in 1:1.4 and 600 in 36.9.

Ala Moana and Sir Kinloch finished 1000m in 1:1.5, the last 600 in 36.3.

Ngahiiti completed 800m in 51.7, the last 600 in 36.4. She is well ready to resume racing.

On The Quiet, denied a start lately because of the ballot, went 1200m in 1:16.9, quickening nicely for the closing 600 in 36.2.

Carnegie Cafe, ridden by Shane Hapeta, and Doryman (Richard Collett) cut out 800m in 49.1, the last 600 in 36.5. These were smart times with the trainers aboard.

The Sportsman looked to have come through his recent winning race in good order when running 1600m, the last 600 in 38.9.

Logistic and Tellerlove completed 1200m in 1:16.4, the last 600 in a very smart 35.8.

Needusask and Alena finished 1000m in 1:4.8, the final 600 in 38.7.

* Danz Star showed that he has improved since his fresh-up run with a sound gallop at Cambridge yesterday morning.

Work was done on a heavy No.2 grass with the markers out 12 metres.

Danz Star (Griffin) returned 1:9 for 1000m, sprinting the last 600m in 39.3. He is to race over 1600m this weekend.

Shereigns (Dresler) travelled nicely over 1000m in 1:11.6, finishing off in 41. Bling Bling (Gedge) worked in from the 1000m in 1:9.9, the last 600m in 40.3. I Rock My World (Bain) left 1000m behind in 1:9.8, the final 600m in 39.9.

I'm Insatiable (Walsh) and I'llthinkaboutit (Satherley) were on terms throughout 1000m in 1:10, the final 600m in 40. Del Toro (Callaway) was timed from the 600m in 42.1, travelling easily throughout the gallop.

Leica Guv (Hills) returned 1:23.5 for 1200m, the first 600m in 41.9. Santoya (Bransakova) and James Scott (Whiteman) matched strides over 1000m in 1:11, the final 600m in 42.

Dead Common (Ropiha) had Spinning Meteor (Satherley) for a companion over 1000m in 1:10, the final section in 41.3. Whatafox (Gould) and That Figures (Ropiha) worked over 1200m in 1:23.3, the last 600m in 41.7.

Catchmeifyou can (Gedge) and Auckland Blues (Bain) covered 1000m in 1:8.3, coming home in 39.6.

* Fog interfered with the timing of gallops again at Te Awamutu yesterday.

Working in the centre of a heavy No 1 grass, Micky Mantle (McFadyen) took 1:7.9 to run a 1000.

On the sand Shinko King (Hain) and Plantation (G. Grylls) worked over 1200m running the last 100 in 1:8.1, the final 600 quicker in 38.2.

Hannah (C. Grylls) and Seraphina (G. Grylls) dashed over 600 in 38.8.

Star Beni (Collins) and Trade Up (Clarke) ran the same distance in 41.6.

* Fog prevented any trackwork at Matamata yesterday.
