Daniel Bothamley will ride Kidunot in the Great Northern Hurdles at Ellerslie next Saturday after combining with the gelding for a runaway win in the restricted open hurdles at Oamaru yesterday.
Kidunot raced handy, went clear at the second-last fence and won by 12 lengths.
It was an impressive effort from the Gaius jumper who raced in the clear three wide against his four opponents, later three after Vinopolis clipped the first fence in the straight, tossing rider Richard Eynon who was stood down from later engagements.
Kidunot strode to the front with about 1000m to go and soon had the field off the bit.
He will relish the extra distance of the Great Northern and the likely firm track will be no disadvantage.
