KEY POINTS:
The powerful Andrew and David Schofield Huntley-based kennels begin their defence of the New Zealand Greyhound Cup at the Addington Raceway tonight.
The first two from the four qualifying races advance through to next Thursday night's $75,000 race.
They won the 520m race last year in track record time with Big Sam Junior.
He is not returning as he's currently in Melbourne preparing for an attack on the A$250,000 ($288,000) Melbourne Greyhound Cup.
The Schofield's have travelled south with some very serious fire power. Kennel spokesman Denis Schofield considers that from the six chasers they have engaged, Cawbourne Baron, Cheeky Bonnie and High Ace are their leading chances.
Other northern-trained chasers who require consideration tonight include Dynamic Keroma and Thrilling Louie.
The south has accepted with some classy greyhounds. Included is the John McInerney-trained TAB Futures favourite Another Whisky, along with big-race trainers Dave and Jean Fahey who will parade Winsome Gem and Winsome Secret to the traps.
