Sue Martin has trained one other galloping winner apart from Run Like The Wind, but she can't remember its name.
But that is irrelevant after Run Like The Wind blew his opposition off the Avondale track in yesterday's $60,000 First Sovereign Trust Concorde.
"It was grey, I can't remember its name and it was no good," was Martin's succinct summation after yesterday's career highlight.
Martin is steeped in harness racing.
She is the former partner of harness trainer Neil Brady, these days training in Australia and has Run Like The Wind only because of a single phone call late one night.
"This person, who has gallopers and trotters, told me about this horse and I knew everything he touched turned to gold, so I said yes."
At the moment Martin trains four gallopers and four harness horses at Pakiri Beach.
Grant Cooksley was impressed with his first ride on Run Like The Wind.
"It took him a while to get his rhythm, but once he got organised he felt better and better.
"He'd make a terrific 1400m horse. He'd lead and relax."
There was only one horse in it from the 300m, with Clifton Prince clinging to second well in arrears.
Dezigna finished strongly into third just ahead of Amazing One.
Mr Multiwin and Pin Up Boy were next.
Vinaka weakened after sitting outside the speed and stablemate Devoted ran on strongly after getting a long way back.
From a future Railway Stakes perspective Devoted's effort was encouraging.
Racing: Run Like The Wind lives up to his name in Concorde
