Bryce Revell would love to take his rising star All In Tempo to Sydney this autumn.
It's just that his owners would rather he stayed close to home. Their thinking may be changed if he pulls off an ambush and beats the Big Three in tomorrow's $200,000 Fully Fledged Classic at Otaki.
"They would like him to stay around here and chase $20,000 races whereas over in Sydney they are going after A$400,000 and more," said the New Plymouth trainer yesterday.
"We haven't nominated him for any of the big races, such as the BMW, but there's still plenty on offer."
All In Tempo comes off an emphatic win on his home course last Saturday, again stamping himself as a horse of the future.
Whether he's up to beating Wall Street, Daffodil and Vosne Romanee - who have won $2.3 million among them - tomorrow is another story.
"Daffodil and Wall Street are just machines," says Revell. "But it's not to say my two couldn't beat them on their day.
"Ekstreme is ready to explode. If she gets a dead 5 track on Sunday she'd be right in it, but it looks as though the track will be good."
It will be Ekstreme's final run before heading to Sydney where she will be aimed at the $1.1 million Doncaster Handicap on April 17.
The Doncaster is also on the drawing board for Wall Street, while Vosne Romanee may chase the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in Sydney.
The Otaki feature has attracted a particularly strong field, with Mufhasa looking on the verge of winning form after his third to classy Tavistock at Te Rapa last start.
