KEY POINTS:
Don't be put off by Ohoka Moon and Sno's Big Boy at Alexandra Park tonight just because they raced in the Jewels last week - trainer Steven Reid isn't.
While many of those who competed at the Jewels, particularly the juveniles, appeared to be on their last legs for the season, Reid says his two representatives backing up from the meeting tonight took no harm from it.
"Mine are fine, in fact I think the mile racing didn't hurt them at all," said Reid.
"So I think they have to be good chances this week."
Both Ohoka Moon (race eight) and Sno's Big Boy (race six) are good enough to win but Reid says what happens at the start of their races will be crucial.
"Ohoka Moon is really well but Ebony Gem looks the best horse in that race and if he gets an easy run through then, maybe, we can't beat him.
"And the start is important for Big Boy too because he will need a step away. It is always a bit of a worry when horses come back from a mobile to a stand but I gave him standing start practice on Wednesday morning and he was good.
"If things go right I think they can both win."
Reid has a strong hand in the junior drivers' race, with Franco Tetris and Avant Garde among the favourites. "I think Franco Tetris has the most talent of the two of them.
"But he also has the worst draw," Reid says.
"But he has worked well this week so I've got him as my best chance."
Reid expects Mo Cullen (race two) to be an improver tonight after a tidy third on debut, with the extra distance likely to suit.
