KEY POINTS:
Sydney trainer Tim Martin has added a new dimension to the line-up for this year's group-one $700,000 Mercedes New Zealand Derby at Ellerslie on March 3 by confirming he will bring his smart staying 3-year-old, Redoute's Dancer, to contest the age group classic.
Martin, who is based at Rosehill, said Redoute's Dancer will line up in an 1800m race at the Kensington meeting in New South Wales tomorrow before travelling to New Zealand on Monday.
Redoute's Dancer will be stabled at the Pukekohe property of trainer Russell Cameron during his stay here.
He has had four starts to date with a win and two second placings.
He resumed racing at Randwick on January 20 with a second placing over 1600m. He had been successful in his previous start over 1850m at Newcastle on November 19.
Martin said he would use a New Zealand jockey aboard Redoute's Dancer when he contested the group-two $100,000 Championship Stakes (2100m) at Ellerslie on February 17.
However, expatriate New Zealander Jim Cassidy is likely to be the rider for the Derby.
