"He's a really nice horse. My gut feeling is he's going to be more an autumn two-year-old but he is paid up for the Karaka Million so we'll give him his shot," Tiley said.
"It's a throw at the stumps on Saturday to see if we can get some prizemoney. They are new owners to my stable and it would be nice if we could get a Karaka Million runner for them."
Should Qiji Spirit go some way to paying his way towards a Karaka Million start, Tiley would prefer to give him a start at Ellerslie before the New Zealand Bloodstock yearling sales-graduate feature.
"We'll just see what he does and how is doing. He'll tell me," Tiley said.
Others worth considering in the Awapuni juvenile affair are The Fugitive, an impressive 3-length September trial winner at Foxton, Matamata trial winner Laurentium, Amazing Team and Shake That Tush, who Tiley labelled as one to watch from her trials.
Tiley will also produce group two Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes winner Bisou Bisou in the group two Kamada Park Manawatu Challenge Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni today, the trainer pleased with the way the mare has come through her sixth placing in last Saturday's group two Cal Isuzu Stakes (1600m) at Te Rapa.
"We're chasing black-type with her. I was really happy with run the other day but she just didn't see out the mile."
Bisou Bisou's main rivals in the Manawatu Challenge Stakes are Ocean Emperor, who only just missed out on a group one placing in the Captain Cook Stakes (1600m) at Trentham last start, and group one performer Contessa Vanessa, who looks some value at $12.
Others worth a look at Awapuni are What A Smasher in race one and Jessiegee in race 10.
Further north, Paisley Park showed a touch of class in winning fresh-up at Rotorua last start and looks a good bet in the first, while Patsys Lass, who ran a quicker last 600m split than winner and subsequent group 1000 Guineas winner Media Sensation in the group three Soliloquy Stakes (1400m) at Ellerslie two starts back, could be a value chance in race five.
