English stayer Purple Moon had his first look at Flemington yesterday when he galloped with race jockey Damien Oliver aboard ahead of next Tuesday's Cup.
Watched by his trainer Luca Cumani, the handsome chestnut sat two lengths off galloping partner Navigate, a maiden trained by Quinton Scott, from the 1400m mark.
Purple Moon picked up his mate smartly in the straight and from the 300m mark powered away to win the gallop by around 10 lengths.
