Not that the pressure will bother him, as he has excelled since joining the country's leading stable, winning the Sires' Stakes and Sales Series on Have Faith In Me, one of the few topliners he gets to partner regularly.
"Tim has done a great job for us and this is our way of saying we have the confidence to put him on any horse," said Purdon.
"I am very busy with the stable down here so Tim has been up there looking after the horses all week and deserves an opportunity like this."
While the red hot book of drives is a reward, it does come with its own challenges.
Adore Me faces starting from barrier four in the Flying Mile, with Gold Ace drawn two and almost certain to lead.
Which means Williams will have little choice but to sit parked and win ugly, or worse, get beaten.
The latter looks unlikely as Adore Me has been flying in her work and Purdon is confident.
"I think she can sit parked and outstay Gold Ace," he said.
As great as the glamour mare is though the Flying Mile is notoriously hard to win sitting parked and Gold Ace, while maybe not the superstar of two years ago, is a wicked natural miler.
So at some stage he will certainly look like he has the mare under pressure, but she might be just too strong in the last 100m.
Follow The Stars' job in the Guineas has been made easier by My Kiwi Mate being scratched and the fact he has two well-drawn stablemates in the race.
If one of them leads then Williams could probably go forward and secure the front unhindered from barrier six but there is also plenty of gate speed between them.
Follow The Stars might well be the real deal and again should win but he was vulnerable fresh-up during the winter in a similar race and only just won.
"That is often the case with colts, even the really good ones, that they can be fatter inside than you think when they are fresh," said Purdon.
"But he trialled well last week and has worked well so he should really win. But, of course, he will improve with the run."
The problem for any punters looking to bet against Follow The Stars is finding a horse even remotely in his class, with his own stablemate Change Stride maybe the biggest threat.
While the $1.40 Adore Me looks skinny, the $1.30 quote for Stent in tonight's $30,000 Flying Stakes is about right.
He is our best trotter at any distance short of 2400m and almost unbeatable over a mobile sprint.
Stent developed high gate speed through his sprint racing diet in Australia last season and any other result than him leading and winning race six tonight would be a huge surprise.

• Mates' rates: My Kiwi Mate (R10, No 11): Has been racing the elite 3-year-olds, huge drop in class tonight.
• Luckless: Aliante (R5, No 6): Has had no luck in short career but better than maidens.
