Trainers Ken and Bev Kelso enjoyed a top day during the recent Hastings carnival and threaten to eclipse even that at Te Rapa this afternoon.
The pair have benchmark filly Bounding facing a good-quality line-up in the $70,000 Sarten Memorial, former Hong Kong galloper Happy Guys in the third and Traveller attempting to put his Hastings defeat behind him in race five.
Traveller looks a great prospect, dropping significantly from the big weight which anchored him at Hastings and he looks better placed this time. More Than Sacred and Storming The Tower looks musts for multiple punters. Storming The Tower hasn't had the greatest luck lately.
Happy Guys has a couple of really good sorts to beat in Thunderbird One and Brave Centaur, but you had to be taken by the brilliant finish he produced to be just beaten under a big weight on this track last start. He has only to reproduce that today to take all manner of beating.
Undertheradar (R4) is a progressive sort up against horses who have been around a bit. He looks worth following over the next month or two.
