Star greyhound Piggy Back thrashed his rivals when he delivered his emphatic 6.5-length victory in Sunday's $21,000 Stitches Upholstery Waterloo Cup at the Manukau Stadium.
The group one event was all over as a contest when the Steve Clark-trained chaser hit the ground running once the 527m traps lifted.
Hecharged his way into the first turn, bumping some of his opposition out of the way and that was the last they saw of him as he scorched away for his 30.38s victory.
It was left to the Lisa Ahern-trained trio of runners to scrap over the crumbs, which saw Renee Ranger maintaining a strong gallop to claim second. Five lengths behind him was Ritza Jack, who cut out Mammy Brown from third by a head.
The win continued Piggy Back's spate of group race victories, with this being his third this season.
"Brilliant, that was a huge run. He had to jump, which he did. In fact, I reckon it was the best he has ever jumped," said Clark.
"He shouldered a couple out the way going into the first turn and as soon as I saw the skirmish behind him I became more confident.
"When he turned for home I was concerned about him cramping, as he had been showing signs of doing so going into the race. But, that was a huge win and he has pulled up super," said Clark.
Piggy Back is a trap one specialist with this win being his seventh from as many races from the red.
It was his 23rd win from 42 races and after adding in eight minor placings has seen his stakes rocketing out to a healthy $71,663, with $37,290 banked this season.
