About $600,000 in bets will be refunded after Saturday's $1 million Pick6 jackpot was called off, TAB racing manager Michael Dore said yesterday.
The Pick6 was to have been staged on the last six races of the 10-race card at the Taranaki Racing Club's meeting at New Plymouth but the meeting was abandoned after race three.
The meeting was hit by heavy rain on what was already a heavy track.
Conditions were subsequently declared unsafe for riders and horses with surface water making for poor visibility.
The $1 million Pick6 will be carried over to Saturday's Hawkes Bay meeting at Hastings in what should be a bumper day with the programme including the group one $200,000 Mudgway Stakes (1400m).
