KEY POINTS:
Three new training partnership will be launched at Alexandra Park tonight.
While the Herald reported last week that leading trainer Barry Purdon would train in partnership with Scott Phelan this season, they will not be the only new team having their first representatives tonight.
Todd MacFarlane, who trains Diamond Dan in tonight's feature, has taken Craig Sharpe into partnership while Logan Hollis has officially joined forces with Shane Robertson.
MacFarlane says punters should be careful with Diamond Dan tonight.
"He is pretty forward but hasn't race for a while so I wouldn't be surprised if he is a better horse next start," said MacFarlane.
Sharpe, who previously worked for James Stormont, has been with MacFarlane for a year.
Partnerships were popular in harness racing a decade ago, then fell away in popularity.
But with many new teams registered this season they are at an all-time high.
