KEY POINTS:
The connections of superstar pacing filly One Dream are taking a laidback approach to their surprise Queensland raid.
New Zealand's best filly will make a one-race assault on the A$50,000 ($55,000) Queensland Oaks on July 7, even though it means paying an extra $5000 in domestic Australian flights.
One Dream was originally going to be aimed at the Australian Oaks at Moonee Valley on July 20 but will now head to Brisbane first.
She will then fly from Brisbane to Melbourne to continue a campaign that will finish with the Australasian Breeders Crown on August 19.
While the Queensland classic was a shock addition to her schedule, co-trainer Dave McGowan is not panicking.
"She hasn't had any serious work since the Harness Jewels [June 2] but that doesn't bother me," said McGowan. "She had her first bowl around at any speed on Wednesday but that was only free-legged.
"I might try and give her a workout at Pukekohe next Tuesday but if she doesn't get there it won't bother her because she goes well fresh."
One Dream had 10 days off after her narrow defeat by Running On Faith in the Harness Jewels, only the third loss of her career.
She will have some Kiwi company in Queensland too, with the Tony Herlihy-trained Spicey also making the trip.
The winner of this season's $150,000 Sales Series Pace is set to clash with Fleur De Lil in the Gold Coast Oaks next Friday before heading to the Queensland Oaks.
Spicey, the only other horse to have beaten One Dream, albeit when they were inexperienced 2-year-olds, is then likely to also head to Victoria for the Breeders Crown.
Her driver Herlihy will be missing from northern harness racing meetings for the next two weeks after being suspended for two meetings for excessive use of the whip at Alexandra Park last Friday.
