KEY POINTS:
Tomorrow night's Ballarat Cup may be worth a lot less than next week's Hunter Cup but for Mr Feelgood it is the more important race.
The former US pacer, not trained by Kiwi horseman Tim Butt, caused one of the biggest shocks of the season when he overcame a 30m handicap to win last Saturday's Shepparton Cup in record time.
That has thrust him firmly into the Grand Circuit spotlight and warm favouritism for the Ballarat Cup.
But driver Anthony Butt knows defeat tomorrow could undo all last week's good work, especially as he eyes the main prize - the Interdominions in March.
If Mr Feelgood can pounce to the lead and stay there tomorrow night he will head into the Inters with huge respect for the all-mobile series, a crucial factor around the Gold Coast track.
How he performs in next week's more lucrative Hunter Cup will be seen as having less bearing on the Inters because it is a different type of racing.
"This would be a great race to win to set him up for the season and I don't see any reason he shouldn't," says Butt.
He makes a good point as tomorrow night's field is weaker than last Saturday and he has the gate speed to lead.
Butt will also partner Roydon Flash in the second heat of the Interdominion Trotting champs tomorrow night and says the honest squaregaiter should qualify for the final from barrier one.
"He is going well and is a good each-way chance this week. But after driving against the Aussie trotters this summer if One Over Kenny brings her best form to this series she will win it."
