Hawke's Bay Racing will stage a mini race meeting at Hastings tomorrow in the wake of light entries.
Only 55 horses were originally nominated for the eight-race programme and nominations were left open for an addition 24 hours in the hope of more entries.
A total of 80 horses were finally accepted for the meeting and the programme has been reduced to seven races.
Hawke's Bay Racing chief executive John McGifford said: "We have decided to go ahead because we will have Australian betting on the first six races."
