When she was pulled to the centre of the track from trailing the leaders early in the run home, she seemed to have little idea which leg she should be leading with, but her ability level still pounded her past O'Dianne, who also lost no friends.
"She doesn't know much, but she can certainly gallop," said Mark Du Plessis, even before he was off the filly's back.
It was a magnificent Karaka Million trial and yet Lisa Latta believes the filly will be better after the Million and further into the autumn.
These last three weeks leading into the Million are always fascinating around which horses will make the field, based on total stakemoney.
Nigel Tiley has the leading qualifier in Showboy and is extremely keen to get his recent Ellerslie debut winner The Justice League into the field.
The Justice League has been on the cusp of getting a run and was pushed back to spot 18 (field of 14) after Bella Court and O'Dianne leapfrogged him yesterday.
However, there are a couple of those already in the field who are extremely doubtful. Trainer Leo Molloy indicated to ARC racing manager Andrew Castles that Outlaw Kate would not be starting, South Islander Peach Cove is apparently also a defection and Victorian juvenile Jacqueric is not expected to make the trip.
Michael Pitman has also put a question mark over Ilikai coming up from the South.
All of which would put The Justice League right back on the cusp again. He is currently the $4.50 second favourite with the TAB behind the Rogerson-trained Maritimo.
"If he gets there, he gets there," said Tiley at Ellerslie on Saturday.
"Our original plan was to start Boxing Day and that would have put him straight into the field, but he had a small hitch."
Exciting 4-year-old Mighty Solomon booked his ticket for a tilt at the elite level when he scored an exhilarating victory in his first attempt at open company in the Waikato Stud Handicap (1400m) at Awapuni on Saturday.
Trainer Lisa Latta confirmed the son of Darci Brahma would take his place in the group one Harcourts Telegraph Mile at Trentham on Wellington Cup Day after Saturday's display saw him firm to an equal $5 favourite for the event in the TAB Fixed Odds market
It was the gelding's fourth win from just five starts in this campaign and saw him once again display an electrifying sprint at the business end of the contest. "He has just kept on improving and he deserves a shot at the group one," said Latta.
"When he can get the race run to suit he can really wind up and he showed that on Saturday.
"He actually did it quite comfortably and while the Thorndon will be his first attempt at the big time I think he will acquit himself well.
Mighty Solomon carries the distinctive colours of Albert Bosma's Go Racing operation which also featured one race earlier when Charlestown returned to winning form to make it a race-to-race double for Bosma and Latta.
