New Zealand trainer Chris McNab has been granted a licence to train in Macau.
McNab received his licence last Friday from the Macau Jockey Club and has already made the move from his former Cambridge stables.
"I consider myself lucky to get the opportunity to train in Macau and from what I've seen the training facilities here are second to none," he said from the former Portuguese colony near Hong Kong.
"There are a lot of positives about the future of racing in Macau right now."
McNab said he had a team of 15 horses to start training in Macau, where racing resumes after a break on September 23.
He said about half the team were New Zealand-bred and had shown ability at trials.
The prize money in Macau is lucrative, with maiden races carrying a minimum purse of $35,000.
McNab, a former jockey, has trained a number of quality horses in New Zealand, including group one Mercedes Derby winner St Reims, dual group one winner Moss Downs, group one Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes winner San Luis and group two winner Danroad.
