KEY POINTS:
Stephen McKee has one regret.
He wishes time had allowed him to give Boundless one more race before tomorrow's $2 million Kelt Capital Stakes.
Boundless won stylishly in a Tauranga sprint fresh from a winter break then finished fifth behind Gaze in the listed Jim & John Evans Classic at Pukekohe two weeks ago.
"I've got this niggling feeling she's half a race away from her best," said a candid McKee. "I would have loved to have had the time to give her another race. But she's fit and well and this is not going to hurt her."
Boundless showed she was up to top class when she won the Oaks at Trentham then looked a good thing beaten when narrowly second in the AJC Oaks in Sydney.
McKee believe Princess Coup and Nom du Jeu stand out.
"They pick themselves and after that there's three or four that don't have a lot between them.
"You can't leave Katy Keen out of it - she's won eight of her last nine races."
Alby MacGregor has Fritzy Boy as well as he can get him, despite the worrying aspect of having to wait until this afternoon's (Friday) official inquiry into who deserves the Kelt ride, regular jockey Brian Hibberd or his replacement Lisa Cropp.
Hibberd complained to the judiciary that he believed he was firmly engaged, a point that will be ruled on today.
John Sargent is hoping the blinkers he applied to Red Ruler for the first time on Wednesday morning will turn around the form.
