"This is of significant concern to us. This puts in question the integrity and honesty of someone in authority."
Although always keen to keep a relatively low profile, Manning is one of racing's most respected trainers.
He did an exceptional job of developing and placing outstanding mare Seachange.
If you are going to win a nice race it may as well be at your own track.
Auckland Racing Club chief executive Cameron George is the part owner of Britt Ekland, stylish winner of an intermediate sprint on Saturday.
Co-trainer Peter Williams predicts it won't be the filly's last win.
"I think she's pretty smart. I don't think she's at her best on very firm tracks, but she will race well on tracks a bit better than she struck today."
Britt Ekland finished powerfully up the centre of the track, where the fast lanes appeared to be all day.
Joey Jonz tested the hearts of the rivals he put to the sword in testing conditions in the last at Ellerslie on Saturday, but 10 minutes later his own ticker appeared to object.
Stewards reported that Joey Jonz became distressed with an elevated heart rate in the swabbing bay.
Meagan Liefting, wife of trainer Rudy, said it was probably a case of strangers not knowing the horse.
"You could say that he is one different horse, very different.
"He's like his mother, she was nuts. She was one of my polo ponies and sanity is not a word you'd use to describe her."
Meagan Liefting said Joey Jonz was leaping and bucking around the place yesterday.
In the same form as on Saturday he will soon win another one on a wet track.
Up-and-coming Cambridge galloper Addictive Habit is racing's emerging stayer.
It was only 1600m that the 4-year-old won over at Ellerslie, but everything about the horse suggests stayer.
"I'm very lucky to have a horse as good as this to train, I owe a lot to the owners," said trainer Lee Somervell, who is predicting big things.
The impressive part of Addictive Habit is the long stayer's stride which covers a lot of ground.
