Tony Gollan has become a believer in miracles.
Somehow, the Toowoomba trainer will be at the Gold Coast today to saddle up four runners including Spirit Of Boom in the Magic Millions Guineas and stablemate Temple Of Boom in the Magic Millions Sprint.
On Wednesday, Gollan was resigned to staying at home to watch the gala race meeting on television with the major roads to the Gold Coast cut by floodwaters.
However, he and other Toowoomba trainers have found a back route through the floodwaters to Warwick and will use Cunningham's Gap to make the long trip to the Gold Coast.
"I'm going to send Tiyatro who is in the Magic Millions Maiden down with Higgins Transport but I'll truck the other three down myself."
Gollan is confident Spirit of Boom can win the Magic Millions Guineas despite a disappointing eighth to Celtic Dancer on a heavy track at the Gold Coast on January 1. Spirit Of Boom has had only the one start on a heavy track and Gollan is hoping for another miracle for a track upgrade.
Gollan has no wet weather concerns with Temple Of Boom who is unbeaten from two starts on heavy going. "The conditions won't worry him and he's effective in any condition."
