Logan admits she is easily bored, so between races she did McDonald's weekly housework.
The overall payment was a win that confirms Volkstok'n'barrell as a potential group one winner.
With 500m left in Saturday's stakes race Volkstok'n'barrell gave every impression he couldn't win, so badly did he look to be floundering on the rain-affected track.
"I honestly thought he was going to run last halfway through the race," said Logan yesterday. "I was kicking myself, because I nearly pulled him out because of the footing."
But once balanced up in the home straight and given some encouragement by rider Matt Cameron, Volkstok'n'barrell bounded away for a clear-cut win.
"I rang Matty straight after the race and he said 'boy, has this horse got gears'. He said he only had to shake him up and that initially he went so quickly he had to say 'whoa, hang on'. Matty was hugely impressed."
So highly does Logan rate Volkstok'n'barrell she considered taking him to Melbourne this spring, despite the fact Saturday was just his third raceday appearance and that a tough campaign against Australia's best at this stage had the risk element of frying him physically and mentally.
"He's going to be so much more mature in the autumn."
For that reason, Logan says she almost certainly won't take Volkstok'n'barrell to Riccarton for the 2000 Guineas and will wait and prepare him for the NZ Derby at Ellerslie on February 28.
"He's crying out for more ground already - he's going to be awesome when he gets to a real staying trip."
Logan picked up Volkstok'n'barrell for $50,000 at the Karaka Select sale. "Like most of the horses I buy I didn't have anyone in mind for [an owner] at the time and went about putting a syndicate together.
"Gibbsy [Jim Gibbs] has always said to me if you find a nice horse let me know and I'll come into it."
Jim Gibbs' son Chris, who originally trained in partnership with the Logans, was working in Australia and said he'd take a share.
"Ashley Goodwin took a share and Dominic Li, who was the vendor, asked me who owned the horse and when I said I was still putting a syndicate together he stayed in the horse for a share."
Logan is equally excited about the prospects this week of Rising Romance as the classy mare steps up to 2000m in the Craven Plate.
Rising Romance looked good coming from last into fourth behind Lucia Valentina when resuming in the 1400m Tramway Stakes in Sydney then finished seventh behind Sacred Falls and Royal Descent over 1600m in the George Main Stakes.
"That last run was better than it looked. She is not a 1600m horse and she raced too handy."
