"Geoff knows exactly how to ride her. She needs to be held up and he seems to be able to do that."
Little Brown Horse has been a great money spinner for Doughty with 11 wins and $228,000 prizemoney.
"I would love to see her win a feature race," Doughty said.
"She likes the Gold Coast and that is a plus for us."
Doughty and her husband Gary have been great supporters of Goold who has had a mixed year.
He was the rising star apprentice earlier this year but the retirement of his master, trainer Len Treloar, was a major setback.
Gary Doughty, a Group 1-winning jockey, rates Goold among the best apprentices in the state.
The Gold Coast track received 81mm of rain on Wednesday which did not worry Doughty because Little Brown Horse handles wet tracks.
But it is not the same case for her other runner Where's That Dragon who will be ridden by Lloyd.
The filly was a shock Doomben winner at $51 two starts back but was well beaten in last Saturday's Vo Rogue Plate.
"It was just too wet for her last week. Her dam didn't handle the going and nor did her siblings so I suppose it was no shock," Doughty said.
Trainer Kelly Schweida believes it will be a case of now or never when he tries to teach the flying Agitate to race off the pace today.
Schweida's decision to change tactics on Agitate adds to an already intriguing Bat Out Of Hell (900m) at the Gold Coast.
The race is known as the short-course championship of Queensland and has attracted a field of genuine speed horses.
Agitate, who has been on the pace in all 16 of his race starts, was expected to be right up there with the quickest out of the barriers. However, Schweida said it was a perfect race to teach Agitate to race from behind.
"I mean if you can't take a sit in this race you are never going to be able to get a sit. I haven't seen a race with so much pace in years."
Agitate, in his first start since June, has drawn barrier two and will be ridden by Glen Colless.
Schweida said he had been tossing up whether to give Agitate a barrier trial and bring him back through a 1000m race at the Sunshine Coast in two weeks.
"But I thought the 1000m up there might have been a bit tough so we will go with the Bat Out Of Hell which should be perfect."
