A decision whether Lion Tamer goers to Sydney to race this weekend will now be left until tomorrow morning.
The Champagne Stakes winner at Ellerslie last Saturday is a possible runner in the A$300,000 Champagne Stakes at Randwick this week.
However, owner Phil Bayly and co-trainer Murray Baker are leaving a decision until the absolute last minute.
"There is a flight Wednesday night and we'll make a decision in the morning," said Baker yesterday.
The stable is delighted with the way Lion Tamer came through his big Ellerslie win, where he flew home from what looked an impossible home-turn position to bury his rivals late.
That victory showed again that Lion Tamer is a stayer of the future.
The 1600m did not bother him at Ellerslie and should be perfect for him at Randwick if the trip goes ahead.
Bayly and the Baker stable will be represented in Saturday's Sydney Cup by classy stayer Harris Tweed.
The son of Montjeu was at $10, behind Precedence, the $7 favourite with bookies last night. Zavite was at $8, former New Zealand stayer Capecover at $13, with the Mike and Paul Moroney-trained pair Divine Rebel at $21 and Tinseltown at $26.
