Let's Enjoy drew attention to her chances at Te Awamutu tomorrow with her final gallop at Takanini yesterday.
Working 9m out on a firm No 1 grass, Let's Enjoy covered 1000m in 1:3.2, the final 600 in 36.9.
Red Bunting was another maiden who worked attractively, running 1000m under a fair weight in 1:3.6, the last 600 in 36.7. He will probably run at Avondale on Saturday.
Foxette showed her customary pace to cut out 800m in 49.2, the last 600 in 36.2.
Grani and Aircraft did well to run the last 1200m of 1600 in 1:18.8 and 600 in 37.8.
Breezy completed 1000m in 1:5, the last 600 in 36.8, and improving stablemate Universal Charm recorded 1:5.3 and 36.9 for the same task.
Sista and Stand Tall proved their fitness for Saturday's Avondale Guineas when they worked impressively at Matamata yesterday.
Galloping on a fast plough, Sista (Donoghue) and Sandshine (Rastrick) had no trouble in cutting out the last 1200m of their work in 1:19.7, the final 600m in 37.6. Sista looks very well for her first run over ground on the weekend.
Stand Tall (L Innes) was accompanied by Cool Talk (O'Sullivan) over a smart 1200m in 1:16.8, the final 600m in 37.2. Stand Tall shows immense promise, but as a maiden a start in the Avondale Guineas hinges on the strength of the nominations.
Another Avondale Guineas entry, talented filly That's Tops, looked well when working with Etoile Du Nord but no time could be taken, while O'Sullivan stable newcomer Matiri King was kept to pacework.
Deebee Jean (L. Innes) prepared for Avondale with a solid 1200m in 1:14.2, the 600m in 36.9. She is at peak fitness.
Te Awamutu maiden candidate Uhuru (Verry) was not pressured over 1200m in 1:22.9, the 600 in 38.2.
Singing Star (B. Lammas) continued her Waikato Times Gold Cup preparation with 1000m in 1:01.7, the 600 in 36.2. Danamora (L. Innes) and Omnia (Sapsworth) worked well to complete 1200m in 1:23.3, quickening for a slick final 600 in 35.9.
Upsetthym (Innes) was allowed 1000m in 1:10.2 and 41 in her first serious recent work. Express Train (McKay) worked well over 1200m in 1:16.4, the 600 in 38.7, while Gold Stripper (M. Brosnan) took 1:17.8 and 38.8.
Pulboro (Ritchie) showed his readiness for Waipukurau on Sunday when working with Pokerface (Weatherley) over 1200m in 1:14.5, the 600 in 36.6. Singasong (Ritchie) maintained a solid rate over 1200m 1:18.7, the 600 in 37.3, while Boston Bay (Hercock) and Javeon (Alexander) cut out 1200m in 1:19.5 and 37.2.
Chocolate Crunch (Ong) and Stradivarious (Weatherley) wasted no time over 1000m in 1:01.5, the 600m in 36.5. Over the same distance Catsaga (Bosson) was restricted to 1:08.5 and 39.6, while Desert Folly (McKay) and Full Tack (Ritchie) took 1:01.5 and 36.8.
