Star New Zealand four-year-old It's A Dundeel ended glamour mare Atlantic Jewel's perfect record in the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield yesterday.
Shooting for her 10th win from as many starts, Atlantic Jewel was edged out by the outstanding son of High Chaparral in the group one weight-for-age race.
Atlantic Jewel took up the running as the field settled but she soon had company when It's A Dundeel parked at her girth.
When Michael Rodd called on Atlantic Jewel at the 500m, It's A Dundeel also responded for his former champion New Zealand jockey James McDonald.
After a length-of-the-straight battle, the Kiwi gained the upper hand in the final few strides.
