Brisbane jockey Stathi Katsidis is heading back to New Zealand to ride at Auckland on Saturday.
Katsidis was booked for the Roger James-trained Gaze in the group one $200,000 Champions Mile Handicap (1600m) at Ellerslie, stable foreman Paul Mirabelli said last night.
Gaze is a last-start winner of the group one $200,000 weight-for-age New Zealand Stakes (2000m) at Ellerslie on March 10 when edging Sir Slick into second.
Katsidis rode the James-trained Ritzy Lady to win the $80,000 New Zealand St Leger (2500m) at Trentham on March 17.
Before that he rode another from the James stable, Shira, to victory in the $50,000 Ellerslie Oaks (2100m).
Shira will again be among Katsidis' rides at Ellerslie on Saturday in a $40,000 rating 92 event.
