Murray Baker wasn't shy about who knew he backed Kaapsise to win at Ellerslie on Saturday.
"I had a good bet and you can say that in the paper - I thought he'd win."
With Lynsey Hofmann in the saddle, Kaapsise stylishly won the Radio Sport maiden event, paying $16.30.
"That's why I put Lynsey on her and not Lisa Cropp - to get a price. Lisa's ridden him in his two previous races."
Baker is happy to declare how much he thinks of Kaapsise.
"He's really going to make it."
He had reason to be delighted later in the programme when Viz Vitae put his cups campaign further down the track with an easy win.
Viz Vitae was expected to beat a field full of winter gallopers, but it was the ease of his victory was impressive.
Baker has decided that if Viz Vitae is to do enough to make it into the field for the Melbourne Cup, he has to race in Australia.
