Awapuni trainer Roydon Bergerson his hoping three-year-old filly Just Fabulous can continue her impressive run of form at Trentham today when she competes in the Gr.3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m).
The daughter of O'Reilly has placed in all bar one of her six starts this campaign, including a placing in the Gr.3 Eulogy Stakes (1550m) on her home track last month, while she was victorious in her last start over 1400m at Hastings on New Year's Day.
"She's going really well, she has come through her racing really well this season, I'm really happy with her," Bergerson said.
"I think if she had got a little more room she would have run second (in the Eulogy). In saying that, the winner (Queen of Diamonds) was pretty impressive. She raced really well.
Jockey Michael McNab will renew his partnership with the Manawatu galloper and Bergerson believes his filly has a strong chance if she can get the right run today.
"I think she will get the mile pretty well, she settled very well at Hawke's Bay and really found the line strongly."
Just Fabulous will likely have a quick freshen-up after today's contest before being readied for a tilt at Group One targets in autumn.
"She's nominated for the Oaks, but whether we get there or not is another thing, we will be looking to anyway."
