Racing: Jockeys suspended

Two Victorian jumps jockeys and a trackwork rider have been suspended for drug-related violations.

Jason Evans was outed for a month after returning a positive test to prohibited substances consistent with the use of valium.

Racing Victoria stewards took into account his guilty plea, personal circumstances and unblemished drug related record in arriving at a one month penalty.

Fellow jumps rider Garry Preston was suspended for six months for failing to provide a urine sample at the Bendigo track on December 7.

Track rider Phillip Bratby was outed for two months after testing positive to a banned substance consistent with the use of marijuana in a urine sample taken at Bendigo on December 7.
