Waverley galloper Judge Judy could resume on a winning note in the Woodville Four Square Progressive at the club's spring meeting today.
The five-year-old Deputy Governor mare had an outing at the recent Wanganui trials and while she didn't feature, she would have benefited from the outing.
Judge Judy will be ridden by trainer Kevin Gray's stable rider, Jade Rogers, who has been in good recent form.
Firestarter indicated he was capable of reaching the best company by his performances last season.
He, too, appeared at the Wanganui trials and will be in the hands of one of the country's top riders, Paul Taylor.
Go Dolly has always looked a galloper of some ability. She, like Judge Judy, is by Deputy Governor and will be ridden by Michael Walker.
Taylor has a fine book of rides today. Feu d'Amour looks another fine chance for him in the R J McLean Maiden.
His other rides include Mista Legend, In The Lane, My Chaperone, Country Singer, Caramel Queen and Mystic Smile.
In The Lane will be a leading prospect for the Classic Clothing Intermediate after having won a 1000m trial at Wanganui.
Her main rivals appear to be The Euro, Dixie Lu and another Gray runner Miss Katella.
The Woodville meeting will be its first Naming Rights for Sponsors Day, an innovation where supporters of the club were in a draw for the chance to have races named after themselves or their companies.
Two of the successful candidates include prominent Auckland owner-breeder-trainer Peter Walker, owner of this year's Hawkes Bay Cup winner Bel Air, and Cambridge training personality Alan Jones.
