However, the horse with the greatest opportunity yet under the most pressure of the quartet is Ideal Belle.
Last season's NZ Oaks winner is battling her way back to her best after a mystery problem saw her run a shocker three starts ago.
With the 4-year-old mares' division still quite open, if she can make the Jewels then Ideal Belle becomes a real player and the beauty of tonight's race is that even though it has only four starters, it is worth $14,999 so a win would still put her right on the doorstep of a Jewels spot, with a week to secure any extra money needed.
She simply might be racing a length below her best but it is hard to see Ideal Belle being further than two lengths off the lead beginning the last 400m and she won't get a better chance to return to winning form. Or a better time.
One trainer who understands the tricky nature of small fields is Ray Green, who regularly has representatives in small age-group races, which is why he wants to see Chachingchaching used early tonight.
"Often in small fields, especially at The Park, the leader dictates the race and can steal it," says Green.
"Our horse is plenty tough and has gate speed so I'd like to see him in front and doing his own thing.
"If they can come from off his back and beat him, so be it, but I think he can win and then we would take him to the Jewels, although if he did get run down second would still be enough to get us there at this stage."
Green says punters can back stable juvenile filly Killer Queen in the opening race with confidence, even though she was scratched from her last engagement.
"She fell over last week and took some skin off her side but she is better now and really she should have too much class for her rivals this week," says Green.
"She is off to the Jewels, too, so we expect her to win this week."
