Jockey Scott Galloway will be an interested onlooker when Sydney spring hopeful Hume makes his comeback at Eagle Farm today.
Trainer Brian Smith decided to start the Grafton Cup runner-up in the Paynter Dixon Qld Handicap (1500m) instead of sending him to Sydney for the Group Three Tramway Handicap (1400m) at Randwick. Galloway missed riding at last week's Doomben meeting after hurting his shoulder removing trees at his Gold Coast home but returned to the saddle to ride at Wednesday's Doomben meeting.
"I've got the rider of the moment in Michael Hellyer to partner him on Saturday," Smith said on Thursday.
However, Hellyer's engagement for Hume will be shortlived as Galloway will ride the 6-year-old when he goes to Sydney for the Hill Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill on September 19.
