Melbourne Cup day plus one is always the same.
A tired winning trainer trying to track down a bunch of even more tired owners.
Starting the day at 7 am is not a bad lurk for a Cup-winning trainer used to getting up at 4 am.
Winning owners are something different.
"I can't wake the owners up," said Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Mike Moroney at midday on Wednesday when asked what plans he had for Brew's immediate future.
But it appears the odds on Brew and Cup third placegetter Second Coming going to Hong Kong and the Japan Cup are lengthening.
Moroney had been a bit keen on the Japan Cup for Brew immediately after the great win on Tuesday.
"Probably he won't go," said Moroney.
Brew and Second Coming are nominated for the 2400m international race at the Hong Hong Cup meeting on December 17.
Moroney said a decision would probably be made in the next few days.
Brew has pulled up from the cup in great condition, allowing Moroney the luxury of options.
"There is the Sandown Classic on Saturday week.
"However, that is weight-for-age and I'm not really keen on running either horse in anything but a handicap in Australia at the moment."
Second Coming missed a vital training gallop going into the cup after suffering from an infected foot and was feeling the effects of a hard race on the foot yesterday.
"He is physically okay, but he has got some heat in the foot," said Moroney.
Racing: Hong Kong unlikely for Brew
