KEY POINTS:
John Wheeler admits he's very much in experimental mode with Stand Tall in the $60,000 Cambridge Clothing Interprovincial at New Plymouth tomorrow.
Stand Tall will be having his first start from Wheeler's stable, having been transferred from the Cameron/McRae barn.
Like a lot of Zabeels, Stand Tall has worn blinkers, but Wheeler has taken them off for this race.
"He may end up needing them, but I wanted to try him the once without them," he said.
"He didn't have the blinkers on when he won at the trials recently. He was a little tardy out of the gates that day, but not badly and it'll be interesting to see what he does."
The New Plymouth horseman says he has varied Stand Tall's training.
"I've been doing a bit of jumping with him and he loves that and I've taken him to the beach and sent him around the hills.
"It wouldn't totally stagger me if he ran last ... but I'd be very disappointed if he did."
At his best Stand Tall is more than a match for his rivals.
