Dean Wiles is confident of a bold showing from Nova Incanto at Avondale today.
The Pukekohe Park trainer has been forced to be patient with the youngster, who will make the second appearance of his career in the first of two NZB Insurance Pearl Series races on today's card.
"I expect him to go well - he's a pretty smart horse," Wiles said.
"He pulled up chronically shin sore after his first race so I spelled him and he came back and won a trial, but I wasn't that impressed with him and he went shin sore again so he went back out. He won his last trial by 10 lengths and I've finally got him right."
Nova Incanto is raced by the Singapore-based Nova Racing Stable, with whom Wiles has enjoyed a successful association.
