Racing: He's Heroic in form for Thames Cup

There is some good recent form behind some talented horses in two or three of those engaged in today's $20,000 Lockwood-Coastwood Homes Thames Cup - He's Heroic and Shi Kin Fly are among them.

If He's Heroic can replicate his third to Tinseltown in the Counties Cup three starts back, he'll win today's race.

His runs since in the Waikato Cup and at Awapuni have been just okay and better runs have come from topweight Shi Kin Fly.

She was narrowly beaten into third in the Wanganui Cup, then was only 2.2 lengths away from Bruce Almighty in the Waikato Times Gold Cup, a run good enough to guarantee her going close here.

The negative is she has 59kg here, a big weight for a mare.

The pair pick themselves, although you also have last year's clear-cut Thames Cup winner Regal Governor.

His run behind Veloce Bella at Te Rapa last start was nothing startling, but he appears to have been set for this race.

Posavina is dropping way back in class from open company to R80 in Race 9.

On her overall form she should be difficult to beat.

A couple of maidens that should be hard to contain are Hatupatu in Race 2 and Rocks Of Bawn in Race 4.
