The prospect of an unseasonably dry track at Stratford today has disappointed local trainer Tina Egan, who was looking forward to a heavy surface for her stable runners on their home track.
Egan was hopeful that last week's predicted heavy rain would arrive in time for the meeting to enhance her team's prospects but is resigned to the fickle forecast working against her today.
"I was really keen on the rain arriving as it would definitely benefit several of mine but it looks like we will be racing on a pretty good track for this time of the year," she said.
"I guess if I had wanted it dry you can guarantee it would have bucketed down.
"With the way the track is, Riverman Jack will start in the 2000m race, along with Jackabean, and they should both go a good race.
