Rosehill trainer Gai Waterhouse is mindful that the inside draw has often been the catalyst for ruining any chance of success in the A$3.5 million Golden Slipper, but says her filly Overreach can overcome the obstacle at Rosehill on Saturday.
"Overreach has drawn barrier one which I was very concerned with last year with Pierro, but Nash [Rawiller] said not to worry. This could be the same this year. The quickest way to the winning post is along the rails," Waterhouse told the Herald Sun.
Although Overreach is her prized candidate in this year's dash for cash, racing's leading lady will line up three runners and is just as enthusiastic about Sweet Idea and Whittington.
"They're all in perfect order. You just have to be mindful they're babies and they don't need a lot of work," she said.
Form analyst Mike Fraser said the condition of the track and barriers would play major roles in the outcome of the race. "She will come under enormous pressure to lead or hold her position. With such a solid speed the favourite can be a little bit vulnerable," Fraser said.
