Gee I Jane is now definitely New Zealand's unluckiest racehorse and trainer Neville Couchman's frustration is showing.
The classy sprinter was a good thing beaten behind La Sizeranne in Saturday's $50,000 Darley Plate at Ellerslie.
Lisa Cropp, riding Kay's Awake, copped a two-week suspension for causing the interference to Gee I Jane early in the home straight.
The side-on video does not accurately show how tight the gap became between Kay's Awake and Tsarina Bell on the outside.
When La Sizeranne can get out late and have one short crack at the leaders she can produce a devastating sprint and that scenario carried her through on Saturday.
Stablemate Hasta LA Ciao Ciao was withdrawn at the start.
"She became very unsettled when walking to the parade ring and I had to take her from her handler," said trainer Roger James.
"She struck her head on a pipe railing and when she came back afterward with a little blood in her nose, it's clear enough that had something to do with it."

Sphenophyta could be in a Melbourne Cup field one day.
That's a bold statement on a 5-year-old with just four raceday appearances behind him.
But Sphenophyta looks to have extraordinary talent.
He sat three deep without cover at Ellerslie on Saturday and against horses with much more experience and winnings, he ran away to win as he liked by nearly two lengths for trainer Richard Otto.
He still knows little about what he's there for, but mark him down.

The One is well named.
The O'Reilly-The Grin colt showed he was something special winning Saturday's $15,000 Radio Network.
You rarely see 2-year-olds mount a run from mid-field at the 600m, come wide on the bend and sustain it to win easily.
The One is a magnificent type, which bloodstock consultant Paul Moroney said he just had to have when he saw him at the sales.
"I said to Mike [brother] recently that we might just have our next VRC Derby runner," said Paul Moroney.

Donna Logan has a busy week, but she'll be taking time out for one very important phone call.
It's to the 'minders' of the broodmare Setchell, dam of Saturday's impressive winner Ring Of Fire.
Logan was given Setchell and bred two fillies by Anziyan.
"Both broke their legs and after breeding another colt to Anziyan (Ring Of Fire) I gave the mare away to some friends to breed ponies from.
"I really rate this horse and I'll be looking to breed from the mare again," said Logan.
