*Mornington to host two new A$100,000 features on Sunday, May 20: the Great Southern Steeplechase and a yet-to-be-named hurdle.
* Bendigo will boast two A$100,000 features, while Moe and Ballarat will return as designated jumps tracks - taking to 10 the number of venues for jumps racing.
*Every fortnight from May until July, there will be a minimum A$100,000 feature jumps race.
*Melbourne Racing Club will offer a A$250,000 bonus if one horse can win three of six jumps features: Brierly, Galleywood, Australian Hurdle/Steeplechase and Grand National Hurdle/Steeplechase.
RVL chief executive Rob Hines said the changes were a positive message, which highlighted that "the (RVL) board is committed to jumps racing, both in hurdles and steeplechase racing".
"We're back in jumps racing as we should be," he said.
Hines stressed the changes were made in consultation with the Australian Jumps Racing Association and the jumps review panel.
The State Government had been particularly supportive, he said.
It had committed A$2 million over four years to the sport, including funding the A$10,000 bonus to connections of horses who posted their first jumps win next year.
Steeplechasing's future hinged on key performance indicators last season - three horse deaths would have signalled its end - but it will no longer have to meet any such benchmarks.
"The board resolved that having specific KPIs around percentages was not helpful for the sport or encouraging investment and it was decided to review steeplechases on an ongoing basis," Hines said.
The Grand National Hurdle will be run on July 15, with the Grand National Steeplechase a fortnight later. Metropolitan jumps racing will end with a A$50,000 Rookie Hurdle Series Final at Betfair Park (Sandown) on August 29.AAP
