The punting public were surprised the siren did not sound after I'm Insatiable made an impressive winning debut in the juvenile race at Ellerslie on Saturday.
I'm Insatiable gave third-placed Johnnie Yetton a decent swipe on her way through to winning, costing the youngster some of his momentum. It appeared there was a question of whether it cost Johnnie Yetton second place.
Chief stipendiary steward Noel McCutcheon said the incident had been looked at in the inquiry room as soon as the field crossed.
"The margin between second and third was one length and going away. Had it been a neck or less we would have looked at it and probably the placings would have changed."
It was another win for former Zimbabwean jockey Rogan Norvall, who picked up a double at Ellerslie last weekend.
I'm Insatiable is part-owned by Auckland Racing Club director Alistair Sutherland, who has enjoyed finding exotic names for his horses. I'm Insatiable is by attractive first season stallion Howbaddouwantit.
The former difficult filly has a future for Cambridge trainer Murray Baker, a big fan of the stock of Howbaddouwantit.
