Gerald Ryan tries not to play favourites but he has a soft spot for Snitzel's Jewel, who makes her city debut at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
She came home from her first trip to the races in February as the winner of a 1000m maiden at Gosford and lines up over the same distance in the race for 2-year-old fillies.
Ryan has elected to keep her home in Sydney, rather than take her to Melbourne.
"She's got attitude and style and I've got a lot of time for her."
Although he isn't yet certain where she stands, Ryan hopes Saturday's race will be a stepping stone to big things in the spring.
