Canterbury jockey Judy Lawson remained in an induced coma in a Christchurch hospital last night, her husband Gary Lawson said.
Judy Lawson suffered head injuries in a race fall at the North Canterbury Racing Club's meeting at Rangiora on Monday and was flown from the racecourse to the hospital by helicopter. She was placed in the intensive care unit and put into a coma.
"There's not a lot of change. It's pretty much still in recovery mode. She still hasn't been awake," Gary Lawson said.
Lawson said one piece of good news was the doctor who operated on his wife was the same person who performed a similar highly successful operation on former New Zealand jockey Shane Dye in Hong Kong.
